The NICE Centre
The Nice Center is a place where Seniors and those who just wish to come and socialize meet every Tuesday and Saturday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Everyone in the community is welcome to come to the center when it is open.
Coffee and dainties/cake are served by a volunteer each day for a minimal fee to the public.
While here one may enjoy a game of Pool, Shuffleboard, cards, other games like Cribbage, Dominoes or put a few pieces into an ongoing puzzle.
Currently we have approximately 35 paid members. We are always looking for people to join. A general meeting is held every two months or sooner if necessary. We are a registered non-profit organization and any donations we receive are issued a tax receipt. Our current membership is $10.00 for those who are willing to serve and provide goodies at least once a month and $50.00 for those that are unable to serve.
Throughout the year we have one or two fundraisers such as our annual barbeque in June.
The Center provides a Scholarship each year to a deserving grade 12 student.
The Centre is available for rent to small groups for showers, birthdays, bake sales, courses, seminars etc. The rental fee is $75.00 for half a day (up to 4 hours) and $100.00 for a full day.
