Garbage collection:
Garbage is picked up by Ottenbriet Sanitation Services every Wednesday in May through October and every second Wednesday in November through April.
Please have garbage containers out Tuesday evening for Wednesday morning pick up. Garbage outside the container will not be picked up.
Transfer station operation:
If you have additional items they can go to the transfer station. You must have a permit to deliver items to the landfill. Fees are as follows:
Acceptable items include painted wood, minor construction items such as drywall, linoleum, tile, etc., and any other small cupboards, shelving, etc. and scrap metal.
Please note:
Free Items include clean lumber (no nails) and trees placed in burn pile; grass clippings, leaves and garden refuse placed in the compost pile.
Items not accepted include household garbage, plastic bags of any kind, shingles, tires, contaminated soil, wood, etc.; recyclables including batteries, TV sets, electronics, computers, paper and paper products; chemical containers, antifreeze and paint cans.
Blue recycle bins:
Accepted items are all clean cardboard, boxboard, newsprint and fliers, office paper and shredded paper, film plastic (plastic grocery bags etc.), clean plastic food containers (clam shells),
other plastics numbers 2 to 7 and styrofoam.
Unacceptable Items include glass of any kind, tin cans, bale wrap and twine, medical waste (needles etc.), clothing or cloth of any kind, baby wipes, diapers, Depends etc., household waste of any kind, wood and construction debris, all electronics (which should go to Sarcan), yard waste and food waste.
Please do not put garbage in the recycle bins!
